This piece explores the
constructive conflict through discussion as two minds represented by differing hues
sound their opinions combining in the middle in an explosion of colour from
both sides.
In this piece, I explore the notion of positive
conflicts through constructive discussion. Most people see conflict as being a
bad thing but in reality, it gives each person the opportunity to find a better
way as long as both side's goal is to gain higher truth.
If only one side's motive is to simply be right
then the constructive discussion slowly starts to become destructive as hubris fuelled
communication starts to prevail.
The mindset of someone who simply wants to be
right stimulates a disrespectful environment, attacking the other person,
culminating in a less than optimal discussion. This fixed mindset leads to a breakdown
in communication and little progress.
The mindset of people partaking in constructive
conflicting discussions has the goal of seeking the higher truth for better
understanding, therefore possesses a mutable mind open to reason. Having an
adaptable mind can lead to incredible results combing knowledge and concepts
for the betterment of you and those around you.
This is depicted through the vibrant colour
clash as their ideas collide in the middle of the painting, creating a
beautiful and unique vision.
